Rain! We got some RAIN! 3 1/4" in 2 days and more expected in a few days!

I just turned my two foals out Saturday so the new grass is going to be fantastic for them! So relieved to not continue to worry about my house getting burned down. Whew!

After so many years, I finally got to visit the Barbaro statue as I passed through Kentucky.

we went to out first show of the season, finally but we did well. we got 4th in showmanship(surprisingly she stuck her pivots, and actually pivoted, and stood still for the judge after the second time asking so whooo!) 5th in all our other classes, which were trail, horsemanship/ eq and trail( which is surprising since we didn't go over the bridge or do our gate, cus its scary with a pool noodle on it, and we messed up our first canter( I did it backwards, oops:whistle:) so it was a good day!

Just got back from a nice trail ride. Sparky has been on a joint supplement for his stiff hocks and he’s moving out like a youngster again. He’s stepping into that trail walk of his that feels like a gait, hiking down hills like they’re flat, and coming in sweaty but solid and sound. Very happy!

(They are visiting their grandparents for the summer and all they came with were crocs)

Yay of the day - it's black Cherry season.

Bought a large bag yesterday and I ate them all. lol

I almost always over eat cherries and pomegranates when in season. And crab apples when I can find them.

So we were baby sitting the chickens this weekend, in a heat wave...the reps were checking in, some had losses at 3 500, a total of nearly 40000 birds lost in the group. We lost 150....still a lot, but a lot better than most.

As a bonus the house we were staying in had central air and a pool, so once the birds were happy we got to lounge in comfort.
