It's Oaks Friday and Derby weekend in Kentucky. I'm in the most beautiful place in the world, to me, Kentucky.

I'm in Texas and having a great time! Just bought DD a saddle, saw chloe this morning, eating Mexican food and about to go to Ulta.

So this is almost a week old, but I’m so tickled. We normally do a deep barn clean every spring. Clean all the dust off, remove all the bird nests before they are re-used etc. it takes two weekends to do a thorough job. The most time consuming part is cleaning all the hay waste.

We have pallets on top of stones to store the hay. It works great and my bottom bales are pristine. I’ve got 0 loss. Picking the hay out of the stones is back breaking slow work.

This year hubby got me a leaf blower for my birthday. Whole barn cleaned in about 4 hours! It cleaned the rocks so quickly. 15 minutes per side instead of 4 hours and I think we got them cleaner.

We actually are ahead of schedule on spring maintenance right now!

I went home at lunchtime, watched Dukes of Hazzard and ate grilled cheese with my kiddo. :)

Big day tomorrow: the Dandelion Festival!
