OK so this is really, really weird.

There was a not-so-good flake of hay in one bale. Evidently there was an isolated clump of brambles in the field. This led to a few tough wiry stems in the middle of the flake of hay. Some of them had very small thorns on them.

While Wuss Horse probably wouldn't eat them, I still picked them up. There were a few around the stall.

And while I was picking them up, Wuss Horse found another stem, quite similar, and turned around, walked over and deposited the stem at my feet. He did this several times.

    "What are you doing?"

    "Giving you that."

    "Why?"

"Well, you seem to be collecting them. I thought you wanted them. Maybe your kind eats them or makes crafts with them."

"No I don't EAT them, I just didn't want to leave them in your stall."

"I'm not going to eat them. They're disgusting."

"Well, I figured you probably wouldn't but I just thought I'd..."

"Look. I don't eat JUNK FOOD, OKAY?"

Ha, if only they were all that useful! Conversation with my horses would probably go more like:

    "What are you doing?"

"Picking up these weeds so they aren't in your paddock"

"But I don't want them anyway"

"Okay good because I'm putting them in this bag so you don't have them"

    "What's in the bag?"

"I just told you, the weeds I am getting rid of from your paddock."

    "Can I have them?"

This is very much like the 'What are you eating?' conversation.

    "What are you eating?"

    "Ice cream."

    "I want some."

"No, you don't. You hate it. You spit it out."

    "That's not true."

    "Yes it is."

    "I want some."

    "Alright. Fine. Here."

"AGGGH! Pftt! Pft! WHAT IS THAT???"

    "Ice cream. Like I said."

"I HATE IT......what are you eating?"

"I'm still eating the same thing. Ice cream."

    "Can I have some?"

I have that conversation with King all the time, often about fruit the other horses are eating. The other horses have banana, so he wants the banana. But he doesn't want banana and why would I give him such a thing? But he would please like what the other horses are having. :faint:

No no. The other horses, (or you), are eating something (that they like).

He wants to eat something (he likes) too..

Ah, see? Now it is getting clearer.
The wish is that you turn whatever you´re eating into something the respective animal likes to eat! Sorry, horse, no magic tricks....
Our dogs always needed a test taste to realize: nope, not for me! But at least then they went on their merry ways and didn´t keep on begging...
