Anyone want to play the “what breed “ guessing game ?
He’s around 5 years old , and I have zero info about his breeding or history. Serious Fear issues .

He’s 14.1hh and a stocky little dude. Good bone , rock hard feet, wide chest. Pretty big head for the size of him too, and that low set tail. Moves like a little draft horse. And one blue eye to top it off. And a a LOT of personality is showing .
Not sure what to guess for breed ? He looks like a draft cross but his height kind of rules that out .

How big are Spotted Drafts? A family here has them, and they seem short for a draft horse. He's cute.

He defenitely looks like a little Gypsy or Gypsy cross.
But those things don’t just pop up at auctions or step off of meat trucks around here ... and that’s the kind of background he came from. So I pretty much ruled out Gypsy on account of him not being like 8K to purchase haha.

He doesnt look like he has feathers, could be a reason he went for meat, or he could have landed in the wrong hands and someone didnt know what to do with him.

For a ton of people breed doesnt mean much if the horse wont do what they want

He’s weird in the hair department. Has the tail of 4 horses and then a thin mane. Definitely lacks the Gypsy hair.
I could see someone having issues with him, he’s a VERY sensitive little dude. And when people get a short, thick, fuzzy, drafty type beast they automatically expect it to be cold blooded, thick skinned , and with low reactiveness. I’ve seen this assumption land a few good horses in a bad place .

Good point to bring up !

Definitely looks like a gypsy cross. Those can tend to be crossed indiscriminately so it’s plausible for some to fall through the cracks.

He looks like a paint. I have one that is stocky and built like him. He may be a pony cross.

Shetland Pony mix. I saw one with a Shire mama and a Shetland sire. 14 hands high and the same wide.
