I saw the moving War Horse yesterday. There was a lot of mistakes in it as there are in so many horse movies, but over all it was good. So what breed of horse do you think "Joey" was? I can't find anything on line. He was NOT a TB, that's for sure.

One of the main horses who played him also played Secretariat, according to another thread on Hgs.

Really? He was one of the shortest, thickest necked TB I've ever seen.

Yeah he's 15.2 hh. I'll try and find the article. Same horse that played most the major parts in Seabiscuit.

He was in Seabiscuit, not Secretariat. That I can see. I miss worded my other post. I meant to say his NECK was short and thick. I know TB can be shorter. I had one once that was 15.1 also, but she had a long neck. I had a TB stallion for a while too and he was long and lean. Long necked and long backed. Not thick at all.

About 14 horses played Joey in the movie. He was also one of the many horses that played Seabiscuit.
The horses were matched as close as they could to each other, but each one has a different skill so they were all different breeds.
