So hubby and I are heading to Vancouver Island next month and are looking for some ideas of things to do !

We will have a car and will be there for 8 days, flying in and out of the main airport in Victoria.

We know we want to spend a night or two right downtown-ish Vic, and a few nights up in the parksville area but other then aren't really sure what we want to do. A day trip out to Tofino is on the list too.

    Any ideas?!

Whale watching trip? Definitely The Butchart Gardens, you need a long time to do them justice. A day spent riding around Victoria Harbor, on the little water taxi things is well worth it..

WATER TAXIS? WHAT?! Ohhhh I need to be checking that out for sure !

Butchart is definitely on the list I think.

I think we are going to do 1-2 nights in Langford area, 3-4 or so nights up in parksville, and then two last nights in Victoria.

I think we are just planning on taking duffel bags and packing light so we can move around easily.

Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse in Colwood, there is also a lagoon south of the park that has a wild bird sanctuary on one side and a beach on the other side with birds crafted out of driftwood and seashells etc.

Coombs- goats on the farmer's market roof.
Seal bay nature park- good place for a child to get lost .
    Art galleries in Courtenay.
Cathedral grove- beautiful boardwalk and skunk cabbages.
    Chemainus has outdoor murals.

Are you saying that from experience? Lol.

Thanks for the ideas ! We used to go there when I was quite young - like 4-6 range - and I haven't been back since ! The hubby has NEVER been to the west coast before! I was shocked to find that out.
