Wow she has transformed, she looks great!
Thank you. I think she is coming along nicely.
I think today was a break through day. Charm is getting "it". Today I was able to do my whole routine without a single spook/startle.
She even had a chance to spook and run away. But turned and looked for me instead. I call that a victory !
No one was around again today, so I didn't get on her per se. But I was lying over the saddle while she walked around a bit. I haf my helnet on and was ready to bale if i had to. Steady persistence pays off with her. And repeating stuff in a quiet manner.
And she LOVES Shreddies cereal. Loves it more than anything else she has been given. So I am using cereal as a reward for saddle time, lol.
A picture from today. Little girl is very content with her new life.
And I finally saw her drink from the auto waterer.
Ahhh I'm soooooo close to riding Charm, I can taste it, lol!
It's been a calm week with no one around. I have done the mounting block routine sevetal times and lay over the saddle. Put weight in the stirrups and just hung out around the arena.
I am so happy with Charm today. Everything has sunk in and she gets it. I just need someone there the first few times I ride her to watch me. Just in case.
But that saddle looks so comfy. It calls to me, lol.
Well I did it. I got on Charm today. Twice.
Tomorrow maybe we will walk around the arena a few times.
Charm has no issue with mounting at all. I was able to get on and do some circles at a walk in both directions.
I am so over the moon happy right now. It wasn't much, but it felt amazing to be on my own horse again.
I'm still taking baby steps with her, but I will ride her a little bit more each day. And pretty soon we will be off.
I love your ‘why rush’ approach. It’s obviously paying off!
