    He is pretty wonderful!
@barrel_racer64 He is indeed by yellow roan of Texas. Hos registered name is Jacs Genuine Boon.
@LoveTrail We are going to do the preDenver! Most likely only one class, I don't want to get his little brain, but I think he will do well.

I' having the vet out today because he developed a cough, and a slightly increased temp, but he's his normal self besides that

So, we did a culture, so roughly 48 to 72 hours.
He' has no temp today, he's still bouncy and wonderful, but after exercise he has some slight nasal discharge and coughs.

The vet thinks it's a either a cold, from some new horses at the barn, since he is young and has a weaker immune system (no other horses are affected) or he has some weird allergies going on. So no medications yet

Results are In! Little trouble has herpes type 2 (the dangerous ones are type 1 and 4) and strep. Zooepidicmus. This is a normal flora in the horse, but because of the herpes virus, he has an overgrowth. It' not super contagious. He is on uniprim for 2 weeks then he will be good to go!

@Bakkir we did mucous cultures. We made him trot around to get him coughing to get the mucous production going, then shoved swabs about 6 inches up his nose of each nostril (he was not pleased!) We did 3 swabs of each nostril. They were able to get the bacteria to grow on plates (also did an antibiotic susceptibility test) and they were able to run another test that confirmed the EHV type 2

He had a dry cough that showed up last Sunday, I took his temperature and it was slightly elevated. Had the vet out the next day and he had a little bit of discharge from his nose and his cough(coughed only after exercise ) so we did the culture. He never has acted sick, still a bouncy baby, eating and drinking well.
