We can be moving buddies! I'll send you jingles, you send some to me!
Here’s to hoping they load well, travel well, and settle in like they’ve been there forever. And that we both get to heave huge sighs of relief afterwards.
I haven’t loaded Brandi for a solo trip in ages. Loads like a dream with her buddies going to barrel races. But it’s been ages since she’s been trailered with them, too.
Making new friends.
View from her stall. And more new friends!
Little horse looks little.
She seems to be taking it all in stride. Left for lunch and came back and she nickered softly when she saw me, which she doesn’t normally do, but she doesn’t seem at all upset. Bright and curious.
At the old place, when she realized I was leading her towards a trailer, she started walking faster and poking her nose towards it. Thank you, barrel racing. My horse now loves going on adventures.
I was hoping that’s how she’d be, but it’s been so long since she got trailered anywhere (since we couldn’t race this last summer), and even longer since she’s trailered alone, I wasn’t sure.
Yay! I was wondering how she'd be. Calypso is moving Wednesday now... just too much frozen stuff to deal with today.
Hopefully, Calypso takes it all as easily as Brandi did.
It’s so cold and frozen here, too, but we’d have to wait more than a week for any change so we just went ahead and did it.
I would have too, but didn't get done morning chores until an hour before evening chores started....
She looks so small in that stall!
Hope she continues to relax and be happy.
She’s basically a “hony” but it’s easy to forget until she’s somewhere that puts her lack of hight into perspective.
Always kind of snicker when non horse people visit and there like, “wow! She’s so big!”
Lol. No. She’s itty bitty.
She's so pretty! And it looks like a great place. There's nothing like a weight off your shoulders!
Yesterday, she nickered and was extra happy to see me when she saw me walking down the aisle towards her stall after lunch. Today is was, “oh, hello. Look at all this hay I have all to myself!” After I opened her stall door.
Judging by the bedding in her stall, she did stall walk some, but, other than that, she seems to have settled in like she’s always been there. And was certainly pleased as punch to have her own, exclusive big pile of really nice hay to push all around her stall.
Cause you have to eat the tasty bits on the bottom first, of course. There was lots more hay than is in the picture. She just spread it all out across the front 1/2 of her stall. Lol
Looking good, looks like a decent place. More importantly, she looks content.
