I'll have a play with it on Tuesday, if I thaw out before then......I hope that is long enough, it measure 46 cm, a shade over 18" which is x large or Warmblood size according to most charts.

^ yes but your set up is a bit different as you have concho in there, so your loop is wider than what is required on most browbands to fit the leather you have in that loop. Hard to explain, but leather crown piece plus the throatlatch together probably is only 1” ish wide, but the loop with the concho takes more like 1.25” ish. So you’re loosing a total of half an inch of space to bascially the concho. Lol

So while I believe you that 18” is XL size browband, you do have a draft cross, and you’re browband is really fitting more like a 17.5” browband. That 1/2” can be just the extra little ticket needed to make things 100% perfect :)

For all the years I have been on here, the one thing I can positively say I have learned is: There is no ONE right way to do something. Everyone has their method and while it may work for their horse, it might not work for yours.

Oh, and sometimes using the search bar and lurking is better than throwing wood into the fire by posting a thread :rofl:

This is it just moved up a little

Then I did another minor change that gave more space again...

    Thoughts?

It definitely looks better! I'll let Rn'B chime in on the actual fit, but I just had a thought that you might consider. You can get concho adaptors that will let your concho be the spacer between the crown and throat latch without the hole.
