    Chicago screws are aptly named.

They're gonna screw ya; it's just a matter of time.
Surprise screwing is what they give ya.
They work ( their way loose), until they don't.

Another guy who needs a piece of my mind~!!

I took the Chicago screws out of my head stall and put in leather string instead. ;) I hate the screws and they fail at the worst time.

Little bit of clear nailpolish or super glue to avoid the Chicago screw lol

I never had a problem with CS. But I tend to make sure theyre tight as a pre-flight check point. The tiny lil latigo tie-ons for bits & reins.. they creep me out.

Well we are done, for now anyway!

You can see the original hole there, but won’t from a distance :D

We have got the extra length anyway, next to try it on.

^ I don't think the hole is obvious at all. It rests right over the silver, so I bet it won't be noticed at all.

Nice work! I hope it works for ya!

    Moosey~!! :faint:
just buy ya a longer browband~!!
Fooling with that is false economy.
How much is your time worth?
At your age, (and mine), quite a lot~!!

Thing is, I would never get a browband to match, so would have to buy a completely new set.....and that gets spendy....so altering this one is step one...

Then we check the fit...then as @Rhythm 'n Blues and blues so sensibly says, we will be able to be sure of sizing for custom purchase!

I really need to sell some stuff again.

Honestly, it would have been way less work if it didn't have the concho thingy on it! That complicated things. If it had just been a more traditional english style browband it would have been so much less finicky.

But yes, I'm a fan of knowing exactly what you want before you go the custom root, and if doing some small alterations to know that satisfies things in ones mind, then I'm all for it. Besides - it's only time. hahahaha
