I found it really helpful with the mustangs to do my initial face up, step towards me work situated around their hay. As in, put he hay in the middle of your pen, let her start eating , move in, then when she does what you like and you walk off she gets the extra reinforcement of having a snack. It just seemed to make things go faster and keep them thinking more, since they really wanted to munch, an added bonus to cooperating.

Unfortunatly (or fortunately in this case) she is out of a grade mare and a Hancock bred stud.

She's still pretty either way. She looks like she's going to be a big girl.

I guess you might not have read the Dune Chronicles, if I remember correctly his name translated to Mouse. Stealthy, quiet, flexible etc. It's been ages, but it sure wasn't a negative connotation. Lol, rat definitely is though. ;)

Well, that's definitely a negative connotation. I stand corrected.

I still haven't really decided on a name... Leaning towards Buffy or Sage. My dad has taken to calling her Buffy.....
I got a quick picture of her and her dorsal stripe while we hung out and I had coffee and she had a snack... no doubt about the dun factor here!

So I moved, and she had spent the winter being mostly feral at my parents place until I got her moved here with me this week. It literally took 5 minutes to get her to walk into the trailer (just had it backed up to a gate) no food bribery necessary! So that was pretty cool

I have a small roundpen here so I can actually work with her and not get stuck in corners lol!

Some updated pics.... She's coming up on a year old now, was born in late March/early April.
    Still cute!
