My husband has a 1990 lifted pickup that he loves. It is missing parts and pieces but he loves it dearly. It doesn't cost us a dime sitting in the driveway, and someday we will get to it. :) It is ok to have someday projects!

Is Susan a late 90s GMC?
I adored my old GM. Cowboy was a 99 K2500. I finally gave up on him after engine number 2. He sat in my driveway after I fixed him until I found the right home and he now belongs to friend and has new life as a farm truck/first vehicle for teenage boys. He has a good home. But I don't have to fix him anymore.

New to me truck is 2004 F350. And even though I heard allow this bad stuff about 6.0s. The Beast has been great. And he loves my obsessive maintenance disorder. Lol

I wish you luck with Susan. Cowboy was my Susan but I had to let him go.

I did get the truck back and I was correct. The smoking was caused by the seals giving out on the oil tank.
I'm fighting the warranty company right now. They are claiming my 29yo truck is a commercial vehicle???? Which is not covered under the warranty. I called the original mechanic who has the contract with the warranty center and he was just "WTF".
I would just normally say screw it and walk away loosing about $100 for the part but their stupidity will result in over $3,000 in warrantied parts void. I'm not giving this up.
