    It's not worth fighting with.
    I've tried squeezing my fat calves into boots that I FOUGHT to get the zippers up.... and I never will forget that horrible, dull, ache that creeps into your calf muscle mid-canter in your flat class or hunter course and it distracts you and subsequently ruins your leg position. Just no. Don't do it.

    Sorry this is off the topic but I have been in search of tall boots but the struggle is real when you are 4'9" and wear a 7.5 to find a reasonable pair of tall boots that do not swallow me. Any Ideas?

    If you look on websites such as Dover they tell you how to measure for your tall boots and then give measurements on each boot and sizing, etc. I found that helpful when I bought new boots.

    Yeah agree. Might have to go custom, orr..get lucky looking at used boots. Try a local shop where your Polo club frequents or other high end riders. They often will have an absolutely amazing selection of gently used boots. I found a pair that even used, were enough to pass out from on the quality with absolutely nothing wrong, but needed polish. Give management your specs and number and ask if they'd ring you if anything came in.

    Thank you all,
    I have looked at the Dover size charts and the problem is I would not be able to bend my knee in any size 7.5 boot.
    Alsosusieq2- thank you for the ideas but it seems that I want Monacos on a rubber boot budget;) I'm just casually looking but thought I'd avoid leaving any stone unturned.

    @Dannyboy628

    Shires makes short boots, tredstep makes short, both are 16" up the back.
    I had a pair of shires Norfolk that were nice boots for the money.

    UK brands are going to be your best bet. You're probably a UK 5-5.5 if you search short long leather riding boot on google.co.uk you'll get some hits.

    You'll break the zipper before you'll get them zipped up.
