I have a baby calf that was mildly sick last night with a decreased appetite and diarrhea that this morning was found ice cold and comatose.
    Her name is Wonderful.
She has gone from not able to move at all to moving her ears slightly, and swallowing.
She will probably die, but baby girl is fighting hard and could use some good wishes, and I could use some kind words. We have lost a few calves to some nasty illness that the usual methods can't seem to fight, but she is from my favorite heifer from my favorite cow family, and I pulled her from her mama and cared for her myself.
Currently we are tubing her with electrolytes every couple of hours, and she is buried under straw and calf blankets with hot water bottles.

Praying for Dona's baby calf. I don't think it's anything you are doing or not doing - it's just, well, fate, for lack of a better word.

Hoping that this baby makes it, and it's a turning point on your bad luck.

Baby Wonderful. I originally named her Waif, perhaps it would have been more appropriate....

If she makes it until morning I'll consult the list. . . I've never seen it before, however, so I am not sure if I can get it locally. But thanks!

Probably a stupid question but are you able to give antibiotics to her? Or is that not allowed?

    Nope, not allowed.
Not sure it would make a difference anyways... vet has no idea what we are facing, says a bunch of farms are loosing calves. Hygiene and hydration are our best tools.

Power Punch is another name for it.

Vets Plus Power Punch, 32 oz. at Tractor Supply Co.

But looking at the ingredients, propylene glycol, molasses and Vitamin A make up much of it. You could probably make a drench with propylene glycol and molasses, and inject Vitamin A.

Also, Super B Complex, because vitamin B fixes EVERYTHING.
