Needless to say, while Ducky is cute, it did not stick. Katniss did and I'm sticking with it!

Katniss is a 2015 Sorrel QH filly (registered Dreams in Amber which will likely change)

Gorgeous gorgeous girl. Oh I do love me a red mare, and this one is exceptional. Congratulations, I hope the trial passes swiftly amd smoothly!

    Here she is recently:

She's young so our adventures this winter will be limited to ponying everywhere and getting exposed to things. Planning to take her to a few shows for in hand work. She's got 30 days but she's a slow developer so I'm going to wait before ramping up work until she's 3 in the spring.

She is really wicked cool. My plans for her are reining, reined cowhorse and maybe some of the ranch classes. They look fun!

She is really the nicest horse I've ever been able to own.

Hah! I did pass my trial. Truth is, the breeders / trainers would not just let this one go to just anyone and wanted to make sure I was ready for a young horse. I've been in lessons with the trainer each morning - I'm getting my butt kicked hah! It's fabulous though.

I really respect that they care about where their young horses go. She's a futurity flunk out (not mentally or physically ready) so her value is much lower to many. But for me, it's ideal. I'm not in a rush.

She's bred to the nines that's for sure! I can't wait to see pictures on how she matures!

Good luck to you both! She definitely has the potential to take you far(y)

I'm glad you're not going to push her too fast. She still appears that she's got some growing to do and I wouldn't be riding her much. She's adorable. Looks like a real sweetie pie.
Some advice...Watch her left front. She naturally, like in every photo has her weight on it...and if you sit on her right hind, triple watch out for it...make sure you are really balanced. Ask me how I know.
    Looking forward to updates!

She looks like her dam, can't see a lick from the sire, and has her dam's cuteypie head.
