OK, so we got my daughter a new saddle (13" seat). She loves it. BUT! Here's the issue. The fenders are a lot smaller/narrower at the top on this one than her old one. The fender does not come close to the rigging ring at all, and when she is sitting in the saddle, the rigging ring "bugs" her leg. On her first ride in it (in shorts, gotta love my redneck girl) she got off and had a raw spot on her leg. Her stirrups are adjusted so she has a little room at her crotch when standing in the stirrups, maybe about 2 inches. Now we are worried that even if she wears pants/jeans, she will still get a "rubby" or "hot" spot. I hate to think we bought a saddle she can't/won't use, and we also don't have a saddle shop around here that could replace the fenders with wider ones (that would look funny anyways, since its a very detailed saddle). I started looking and noticed a lot of youth or smaller saddles seemed to have fenders that are really narrow at the top, and hung low so that some of the rivets can be seen! Whats up with that?? Any thoughts/suggestions? Do I need to get pics or did I explain it OK? Thanks!
