I think making your own tack/accessories is awesome! And I make a lot of beaded and ribbon browbands, among other things and I know there are a lot of you out there who do as well. I see a lot of threads asking how to do this, or make this pattern, so lets make a thread and everyone can contribute a pattern, or technique, or favorite glue or thread, etc.

Here is the popular site for the shark tooth pattern

I'll add, I really like E600 glue (I always stitch for added support) but I find it is the best for both adhering to the leather, and whatever other material you're using. I know Micheals carries it :)

    well here is my site.
    www.elegantequines.net

You can see that i make a very large range of browbands.
I have been thinking of writing up a guide for the beaded browbands...

They are very very simple to make.
I will try to get a guide written up when i have some spare time for those who are interested.

I do have ribbon browband guides for sale on my page but i understand that not everyone wants to pay to learn to make these...

I really want to try doing this. I don't have a sewing machine, but do I really need one? I thought you used a high quality glue/gun for this. I would like to do brow bands and the nose of a caveson. Do you think that would work?

I use E600 glue and stitch over it. But honestly I really don't think I need to stitch it! It works wonders. Additionally if you put rosettes on the sides of your brow band you can make them without any stitching or glue (see the first link I posted), however I would suggest putting a few hand stitches in the knot to help it keep a little better.
