The above are pictures of a Hairless Akhal-teke foal

It's unknown what causes this rare occurance but may be by an extremely rare recessive allele of the normal/curly gene (which we know is present in the horse). It is probably similar to what occurs in the cat and dog.

Poor baby! They're gonna have to be really careful that it doesn't get sunburned or something! That's really weird. I gotta say though-gorgeous mare! Did they like put something on him in the last two pics? He's darker. Interesting foal!

From what I can gather the last two pictures are out of sequence. They are the baby pictures and the first ones are the foal just a little older.

This is Harry a hairless percheron.
    The owner says........................

He was born mostly with hair..patches missing, the the loose hair was in the sack with him when he was born. The larger follicles do get the occasional hair, like some mane, some tail, few whiskers and some longer hairs on his chin, neck, some on his legs..just here and there, every 5 or 6 inches...and it is long, stringy, wirey hair..like pig hair almost
