my appendix quarter horse that healthy happy 4 yr old has all of a sudden over night his left chest muscle when u looks at him straight on. It looks as though the muscle is maybe stretched. :confused:Its seems more prominent but there’s no swelling no fluid and no heat on this area or anywhere on his leg or anywhere. And his temp and vitals were and are still are normal. the muscles is a little tender when I feel the muscle but when I apply his muscle cream for it he doesn’t flinch and he isn’t walking sore or stiff, im taking him to the vet within the next week or so just wondering if anyone has had the same thing or any advice:confused::confused:

    He might have gotten kicked.

It could be anything. I would go ahead and monitor his temperature daily and watch for further changes in the area. If he spikes a fever or the area swells, call your vet.

ya i think he was kicked his in an open pasture with like 20 other horses and lots that think there all alpha, i have been monitoring his temp and other vitals for a lil over a week and its all in normal range and theres still no swelling or heat and he isnt walking stiff or sore , he running around like usual i do however have a muscle rub for sore joints and sprains for horses that is pure natural ingredients so not sure if thats why he hasnt been stiff or sore. anyways i went out today and its seems to have gone down a bit, but compared to his other chest muscle its still protruding a lil.but temp, vitals and thers still no swelling or heat and he seems more tolerable when i feel the muscle(for swelling).
