Waylons first show today. Ranch Versatility with a ranch riding pattern, reining pattern, ranch trail course, and western dressage. We placed 4th (RR), 3rd (Reining), 1st (Trail) and 4th (WD). Pretty decent class size of 13 or so, it depended on the class (decent for our area). Some people scratched.

We won Novice High Point CHAMPION! I am over the moon, on cloud freakin nine.

This just solidifies that I made the best decision to switch disciplines. He was a happy boy. We are still working on his fussy face but that will come in time.

The most amazing moment was at the end of my trail pattern. We had to back through a chute. Ride up to it, turn around and back through. We adjusted his direction a time or two and then he just GLIDED right into that chute calmly. I got the biggest smile on my face and then when I halted, I just hugged him and started BAWLING happy tears almost hysterically as we walked out. Some other people started crying too, friends, family and competitors. It was a moment I will never forget.

I will post some of the professional photos when I get them. I have the score sheets too if anyone is curious.

WOOOHOOOO!!!! That is so great! Way to listen to your horse and follow what he needed, not what he was "supposed" to do. I'm so happy for you!

He was so much happier all day as compared to an endurance ride. He stood happily at the trailer, stood body quietly when waiting for our turn. He is still rooting 80% of the time but he has always done that and we are working on it. I warmed him up when we got there but kept it to a few circles and stops because he was so relaxed and felt great! I wasn't nervous at all which is strange.

This is what I won by the way. A super nice garment bag. We actually ordered these through my store to use as end of year awards for our club. I thought they were great so I’m glad I got one!

I should have professional photos today or tomorrow. Just paid her this morning
