warm beer and epsom salts
No, never heard of that. I have heard of weird stuff but not Worchestershire sauce for colic.
Some Cokics can resolve themselves so it sounds like something that someone tried for some very strange reason (Why they thought it would work in the first place escapes me), and the horse recovered and the person decided it was the Worcestershire.
But they failed to realize that correlation doesn’t equal causation.
One time when my gelding was colicy I tripped and fell on my face while I was walking him...about three minutes later he was better. So, I decided I needed to fall on my face if one of them ever colics again. Same logic. There's nothing in Worcestershire sauce that would get the gut moving if there was a chance you could get the horse to eat it.
He probably laughed so hard when you faceplanted that he farted and got better...
That’s a decent possibility
Well and seriously, how many bottles of Worcestershire sauce did they give the horse? It's a 1200 lb animal. If it actually did anything it would have taken gallons to do so. Plus the idea of it getting to where the problem was in a short period of time is pretty far-fetched as well.
