Yeah, I was seeing Panama City on the news, devastating to me seeing that from just a storm. We get tornadoes, but they're pretty isolated usually. Jingling for everyone there. :(

It was still a Cat 1when it hit south Georgia.
The big issue is the big bend: Apalachicola, Mexico Beach, Perry. All rural. All lowland and swampy. They got a wicked storm surge. Tomorrow there is going to be terrible devastation in those areas as well as Panama Beach.

The trees and tornadoes. Stay safe @endurgirl.

Ahh shoot, I forgot this thread and I started one on the storm. :(

I heard there were 500,000 people without power right now.

Well that's a familiar map. I lived my entire life in Hinesville until a few years ago. And of course my mom's side of the family is from Jasper, and one of the family friends is over in Jax. :/

Well it's gone, for the most part. Still some wind. No power, it went out at 130 last night. Friends of mine lost their barn roof down in SW GA, it was still a Cat 3 when i hit them. It stayed a Cat 1 until after midnight then was downgraded.

No telling what the outside world looks like, i hope it's nothing bad.

Well, we have barn roofs gone, some large limbs down and the trampoline is sideways. I had the trampoline chained down to prevent it from going airborne, they did their job keeping it in one place or it probably would have ended up in the now roofless barn. Horses and cows are all ok. Daughter slept thru the whole thing, she's going to wake up surprised at the damage, lol.

Thank goodness you are all okay there @endurgirl
I am still amazed how strong this was. Normally, it hits land and the eye disassembles.
They said the water temps were 6-8 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year in theGulf and that is why the storm built up so quickly.

    No Global Warming my,.... you-know-what~!!
