Wasnt sure where to post this so here goes. My old guy is solidly retired aside from putting around the occasional kid and going for daily walks. I'm looking into getting another horse and I'm pretty set on a OTT Standardbred. I've had a few but they were purchased through third parties. I was wondering if anyone knew any reliable sources like Canter to look into purchasing or rescuing them. I'm not looking immediately but soon in the future hopefully. I cant seem to find any sites that have info and pricing or adoption fees and Facebook has turned up inactive sales groups. Any advice or help is appreciated!

How about New Vocations? They have some NICE stbs go through there.

Otherwise, depending on where you are located, you may have just as much luck at the auction.

There's a Standardbred like Canter, but I don't remember the name. I'd hit Google or @manesntails might know. Good choice, good luck-!!

Canter had one in PA a few weeks ago that I adored. Where are you located? I know quite a few of us members like to help look for horses in our spare time(y)

New Vocatios and American Standardbred Adoption Program (ASAP) for two. Just google Standardbred Adoption. They come up serving different areas of the country.

Get a trotting gelding, if possible.

I rode allllllll the Pacers I'll ever need to ride; Trotters are way easier~!! They naturally canter~!!

Pacing feels so weird! I loved my STB trotter. Even when he hadn't learned to canter yet, his trot could keep up with the hunt field and it was smooooooth!
