My brain is drained...been working very long hours with very little down time this holiday season. Because of work we will not be traveling to see the family this Christmas and will be eating at home.

I'd like to do something different for our holiday meal in view of the circumstances. Got any suggestions on something that would be out of the ordinary we could fix for Christmas dinner this year? I simply cannot think at this point.

FWIW, we like just about everything. I'm not so crazy about celery, water chestnuts or canned beets, but other than that we're good. So please, if you can make some menu suggestions I would appreciate it! I'd like to do something non-traditional just because this year is a non-traditional year in other aspects of the holiday.

I went to someone's house for Christmas dinner a few years back, and they made Greek food. It was wonderful!

Greek sounds fantastic. Neither dh nor I have ever cooked that way...my luck I'd screw the whole shebang up and we'd be left with microwave popcorn and pbj:bawling:

I think we will be having a lamb roast, red cabbage, asparagus casserole and scalloped potatoes with cheese this year.
Last year we had a stuffed Goose with caramelized potatoes, green bean casserole, and the asparagus casserole.
