No he is not camera shy at all lol, and thank you, he is full of antics and constantly makes me laugh.

After about a week of decent temps in the 40's and even 50's we dropped down to about 10 last night, so that meant blanket changes back to heavyweights. Mark's heavyweight has a full neck which I dont like to use unless its below 0, so I got him a new sheet from sstack(it was on sale!) and put a heavy stable blanket on underneath it. He is also starting to shed his winter coat! Hope that means spring is on the way! got a few pics of him naked last night.

And today he got his set of hind shoes, I dont have any pics of them yet, but got pics of his new sheet and him waiting in the crossties. I'll try to get pics later, it was just too bitter cold lol. He said structurally the hoof isnt too bad, he almost didn't put a shoe on, but there was a bit of movement when he squeezed his hoof so he ended up putting one on. He cleaned up the track with a dremel, he said he think the hoof is still bothering him a bit, and he hopes that the shoe will help because the movement of the hoof might be what's bothering him. We'll play it by ear and see how he progresses, he still hasn't ruled out the possibility of a keratoma, but before stress about that, we'll see how it does with the shoes.

    Such a goof ball :D

I've been wanting to get good pics of his shoes but my life has not gotten any less crazy :bawling:I did snap a few quick today after I picked them out (I've also been dusting them with no thrush every day as I dont like the look of his frogs). It was dinner time tho (for both of us lol) so I didn't really have it in me to get better pics.

Cute. He had laminitis recently right? Feet look much better than my friend's horse that had it two years ago. Now the poor horse is fighting white line disease on one foot.

No, he had reoccurring abscess in his left hind, the farrier cut away a lot of the hoof to allow better drainage and get out and foreign bodies that may have migrated into the hoof, here is a quick pic I snapped today on his way out to turnout.
I think its growing out nicely 20190227_093238.jpg

Ah, okay. So his abscess might have mildly affected at least his left front, in that he was under the weather. Looks like better hoof in recent months. My horse usually gets a mild fever with his abscesses.

My horse is also having a foot issue due to a new pad that didn't work for him, too much pressure, that he got a bruise, possible abscess, and almost got laminitis. X-rays verified no laminitis yesterday. They actually said he is too flat footed. Reading on that I think that was due to my previous farrier. It was with her when he to go to pads. Though I am using my vet's farrier at least for this one shoeing and go from there. My vet did say my current farrier is much better than my last farrier. I'm sure he will have a grove on his foot when it grows out.

    Good luck!
