Thanks ! It's the first run of the year and I was fighting just to keep up with her.... Things look a lot better when we are operating on the same page. Things got a little wild and wooly this run....

I’m impressed that you managed to stay with her at all with one stirrup.

Also, I’m still giggling over Mach Chicken. I think that’s my new favorite thing. :p

    I’m even more impressed!

I wanna ride a horse who goes Mach chicken!! Brandi *thinks* she goes “Mach chicken.” Which is adorable. But she does nooooot. We’re starting to place 3D, though. Which is cool. Even at that pace, though? Sometimes I look at video and go, “ahh! My hands!!” So I can only imagine what it’s like when things get hairy going faster.

Hope you guys blow away the competition and bring home a check!

    Shortening your reins might help.
My racing reins were always unnaturally short. It feels totally wrong until you're on the pattern-- then it makes everything easier

Squiggs is one of my favorite horses on this board. So powerful and capable and athletic-- everything a QH should be.

Yeah she's pretty special.... unfortunately no papers so I'll probably never breed her... even though I could have 6 more horses like her! Heck, a lifetime supply would be ideal! I did see two new babies at the place where I got her.... if they're fillies I'll probably have to get my paws on them.

I think that my mother borrowed those reins from me and lengthened them a hole on me.... Cause I always used to warm up in a different bridle with split reins cause my racing reins were so dang short all the time..... I dunno! It's been a long winter and spring and the first race out every year is almost always a disaster one way or another.
