My mare recently started gaining a hay belly and her spine sticks out. Mostly comes up right before her bum starts i dont know maybe "roach back"?
She gets exercised daily and i cut down on her hay. What should i do? We plan on going to some fairs is august and im wanting her to look and feel great.
She got wormed in middle may.
She gets grain at night and in the morning.

Vet check, worm......on this little info could write a book and MAYBE hit what you need to do, but a horse should NOT have a spine sticking out.....pics?

Is there a chance she could be pregnant?
What are you feeding for grain, and how much?
Do not cut back her hay.
Call your vet, get her a checkup. She should have vaccines anyways if you want to show her.

    She gets hay cubes
She gets hay cubes, fibre max pellets and we just added fat pellets to try and gain her back muscle up it was recommended by our horsey friend all together it only adds uo to a quarter of a feed bucket

You may need more protein than fat, but maybe someone with a little more experience feeding minis can weigh in....
When was she last seen by a vet?
And. . . Could she be pregnant? Any chance at all?

Get a fecal and her at least walking a great deal. She's not in bad shape but needs conditioning. What's your riding/hand walking/exercise routine?

Try just getting her on the flat and up and down hills. I'd try and do this at least three days on/one day off. If you want to do pop overs etc fine, but get her moving on the flat, especially up/down hills thrown in.
