So im from slidell, la and theres this horse thats half arab as well as part appy and shes clearly in bad shape and these past few weeks im always feeding her and/or giving her water and shes clearly underweight and never really gets out of her stall tbh so i was wondering if theres any legal action i could take to aquire this horse because the mare is a real sweetheart and i hate to see her suffer like this :( ive tried buying her off the owner but she wont sell her and keeps buying more animals that ik she wont be able to afford nor care for

Yes, call animal control...or take photos of the supposed abuse and take them in and show them that she has no water, food, and her body weight.

They do, but unless they work with a local horse rescue, and the horse is in really, really bad shape, they just won't cease the animal.

If it were ceased, and charges filed on the owner, you could file with the rescue to adopt it.

Where is this horse, at a barn? What are the barn owners doing about it?

That's really screwed up. You need to inform the barn owner and let them handle it. Hopefully they can get something done.

Oh, I see you said they weren't interested.

Boy, idk. Call the sherrif and ask them.
