So I recently bought a paint mare and the owner said she is registered but does not have her papers and does not know her registered name...
This is the info I know:
    Birthdate: 5/23/06
Location of birth: Canada (I think Alberta though not possitive)
Color: Chesnut I think tovero? And has a blue eye
I might be able to get more info...
Is there a possibility I could find her? If so, how?

Here are some things I know but I'm not sure if it applies:
I don't know which one is which but one of her parents is an overo and the other a tobiano
Her dam is black and white (I think she might have some tb but it might be in sire)
    Both are registered

Anyone able to help me out?:(:)

I was in the same boat with Loomis (my thoroughbred) .
I don't know how APHA works , like how Jockey Club tattoos their TBs , do they tattoo paints ??
I got pics of Loomis's tattoo , posted some pics on a forum I'm on of his tat , a bunch of people checked it and tried to read it , then one day one lady showed it to her friend who works at the track and she read it and found some info on the horse that matched the tattoo : Hy Lucky Loom , '89 gelding , which matches my horse exactly .
So I looked it up and found the lady who bred that horse and contacted her , she sent me pics of the colt she bred and that's how I learned my horse's info .
Hope that helps , I don't know anything about APHA and the registry but maybe what I did will give you an idea where to start ! :)

Not much hope of finding papers with no info to go on. IF you had a supposed registered name and/or sire's and dam's names/numbers and it had been DNA'd, you might be able to get them.

You might try posting pictures at all the horse sites you go to and someone MIGHT recognize it and be able to give info.

Is there anywhere someone could look up her mare's birthday, and try to match a name to her birthday? idk, I thought I saw someone talking about doing that...

without her or her dam's reg name I think your only chance would be if she is microchipped for the NAERIC program, and that is slim.

I don't think the op is still around, this is almost 7 years old.

I guess that they have either succeeded or failed in the 7 years since they asked the question.
