I want new countertops in my kitchen, but I'm also not looking to spend a fortune. I don't have much countertop, maybe 12ft total, with the sink hole having to be cut out of one 6ft section.

I'm thinking I'd getting the laminate from Lowe's, it looks affordable and rather simple to install. Any pros or cons? And suggestions for other countertops?

The countertops that I really like are the ones with the molded sinks and molded back splash. They aren't super fancy, but everything is one piece so there are no crevices or edges to collect junk.

I'm old fashioned and like ceramic tile with narrow grout lines.

Wow, that's really pretty though! Do you know if Lowe's or home depot sells them?

I don't like the ceramic tile look, too many crevices to clean, and I hate cleaning. :p

I'm with you :) Cleaning time takes away from horsey time.

I don't know if they have them at HD/Lowes, but our little local bathroom/kitchen place has them and I love them every time I'm there.

My ideal would be quartz... but I have champagne tastes with beer money... so I'm thinking about looking into concrete countertops

If properly grouted there are no crevices, and if sealed properly, they're not difficult to clean. But I'm about to find out how thoroughly my husband can mess up such a thing with his flying coffee grounds and pools of water...

I'd see if you can get a concrete countertop done like the way @DelP's picture shows. I bet it would look nice!

We have a pretty formica that is made to look like granite. It has held up well so far. You just can't throw heavy or sharp objects onto it obviously because it will cause indentations and scratches.
