This little filly is a little resale project I picked up. I say project with a capitol P. She is a basically unhandled yearling. She is bred pretty well, but as you can see she hasn't exactly been treated like a queen... So, without further ado, meet Baly. Miss Baly Time Quarter Horse This will also kind of be her update/training thread. She isn't halter broke, so I'm going to try and document some of our progress on here. Standing in a hole: She has had a halter on her, but they loaded her on my trailer by running her down the alley. She wasn't too terrible for me to catch in the trailer and my new "wild" pony led like an angel from the trailer, down the drive way, past the dog, and new buildings, thru 3 different gates practically on a loose lead. She is a little sweetheart, but definitely not been handled. She has been at my house for 2 days, and since I don't like leaving halters on loose horses, she hasn't been caught again. Yesterday we worked on walking up and petting the face and walking away, yielding hind quarters, and kind of "hooking on" in general. Today was more of the same, but progressed to petting the neck on the left (she is very protective of her right side, so that is high on the list of things to work on) and we ended with giving her a good wither scratching that she absolutely LOVED.
