So I don't really speak western. My daughter, of course has decided she wants to ride Western. So, she got a new saddle for Christmas as well as a bridle. Now I need the bit.
The trainer wants a short shanked smooth mouth three piece bit. In my world this is a French link elevator...but whatever.

    Show me whatcha got.

I assume your daughter is/was riding English? What bit was her horse in before? You can always ride a western horse in a snaffle, unless showing an "aged" horse that requires a shanked bit.

She rides with an instructor on her horses that ride in short shanked bits. I ride mine in a snaffle, hubby (who rides western) does not have the kind of bit the trainer wants.

Following this, I'm casually searching for the same thing. I want to buy new, but no idea what's even out there. This should give me an idea where to start!

It would probably be helpful to snag a picture of the trainers current bit, but here are a few short shank options:

Yes, any of those are fine. I might just buy a new one.
