Human Shampoo on a horse

    So I was wondering what is the best human shampoo to put on a horse, I heard suave is a good one but can you use it for mane,body,and tail?

    Shouldn't matter... I use whatever is cheapest

    Matrix is awesome, but it's a pricey salon brand. I heard dollar store shampoo is good.

    Mane and Tail first started out as an equine shampoo back in the 70s. Remember my mom trying it out on her hair. :D I actually don't like it on my hair, but she liked it with hers.

    Also because the stores carry it, you can get it cheaper usually at a grocery store than a tack store.

    Visit the DollarStore, get big bottle of suave today for $1.09, while I was on my shopping spree.

    Any non-detergent shampoo. Baby shampoo has a no-tears formula...wash the head well to remove salt from the skin when they sweat, then rinse.

    I use baby shampoo. If its gentle enough for babies its gentle enough for my horses - and if hy chance its not all rinsed out it wont irritate the skin. I use leave in conditioner for manes and tails.

    Another vote for baby shampoo just because I can scrub a face to my hearts content without worrying so much about irritation.
