I have googled and read sooooooo many articles on pack rats and none say how many babies they have at a time......

I have had 6 adult packrats in my barn in total since I moved here, we bought a live trap, trapped them one by one and moved them to a safe place..... I cant hurt or kill anything.

Well yet again we had another packrat this winter, I dont move them in the winter I think its to cold and they will freeze to death in there new spot haha, so I waited till now well, theres babies!!!!!!! They are old enough to live on there own. I only know I have babies because my cats caught 2 of them.

So how many babies should I assume are in my barn? LOL I have to remove them all or they will overtake the barn ewwwwwwwww

    thanks :):)

I don't know how many you might have, but I'd definitely be putting a lot of traps out... gross!

Farmeress probably has a few cats she can send you.....

Or you can get Peggy Sue to send you Bertha the Snake...

hahaha they are pretty darn cute! One of the babies I saw had the white chest and then white boots on his legs!!!! Soooo cute! But so annoying in my barn! They must have made there nest really safe and out of reach because the cats cannot get at it no matter how hard they try. They can only get one if they leave the nest and go for food somewhere.

haha I have noticed my cats arent the best hunters, my young male sleeps all day.......... hes so lazy and my female is 11 and she used to be a great hunter in her young days but she has slowed down now.

I think will have to have some cats sent to me LOL

How do I find out how many babies they have???????????????

get more than 2 cats. Don't rely on male cats to hunt, they're not hunters. Get female cats, they will hunt those pack rats down!

I need a barn cat... my cats are indoor outdoor cats, they dont live 24/7 in the barn, unless I lock them in at nite to catch mice and rats/
