I think you'll be happier with a horse that you can ride vs. one you can only drive.
Maybe its because I have a mini mule, but I find minis MUCHHHHHHHH less maintenance. Everything is cheaper to maintain them. Mine stays in the same fencing as my horse. Takes 5 minutes to trim her feet. She stays on a dirt lot and maintains weight just fine. Every thing is easy with her.
Regarding the OP...why not both? LOL
OH my-lanta!! that thing is freaking adorable!!!!!
I have a horse and a mini donkey that I am training to drive. Both have their pros and cons but I love doing both. My donkey loves my attention while my horse would rather do horsey things. I have to watch what I feed the donk but the horse is easier to care for feed wise. I'd say both but...
I vote for getting a Standardbred!
The trained trail horse who do the extreme trail stuff seems like the way to go. He sounds pretty versatile.
I am going to try out his horse. If I feel we're not a match I'll take the money and start looking in the spring. I made the mistake of looking earlier
Email- that thing is ADORABLE. How old? What's the trophy?
That thing is Odette Shes a 5 year old Mini Molly Mule. The trophy was for winning high point at a schooling show in the next county over.
Shes basically the best thing ever.
Well, she is pretty cute! I just seen your post in the show part with the trophy. She is pretty proud of it
