Okay, I KNOW how to put in earrings.........when the stud is straight. But I bought some white gold and emerald (with plans to wear them to the wedding cause them's my colors :D) but they have a curved stud, and last I checked my holes aren't curved.

I get frustrated and just want to make new holes :p

Is there a secret to them fangled gadgets? Most earrings that I see and like are the curvy studs.

Like these but a bit longer (best example I could find)

I can get it started but it pokes into the back of my earlobe skin and not at the hole

You go in at an angle and sort of wiggle it through, I HATE those. Even once you get them in they sit there and scrape you all day long.

GAHH! I hate those types! So annoying! I kinda do what ParkedOut said, angle it and wiggle it. Just make sure you don't try too many times, then your ear will hurt too much! :(
What if you took them to a jewler and got the thingy ma jig changed?

That's what happens. It irritates me too much and my ears turn red and sore, so I just go earring-less.

Wonder if they could switch the part?

Absolutely true. You have about two tries before it gets to be painful! LOL

    :D

ETA: I also do better if I don't look in a mirror while doing it. Its easier to 'feel' where it should be rather than see it.

teehee, with the curved ones you have to stick them in and then just kinda wiggle them up and down until they're through.

much less painful if your ears have been pierced for a long time. If I put those curvy ones in my first holes it's fine since they've been done for like 8 yrs (I was 6), but ones that are curved in my second holes HURT since they were just done in feb.
