Keep in mind that Ragged Charm is only 6. That’s still a baby in the barrel racing world. You don’t want to start running them hard until they’re 5/6 anyway.

Quote from the owner on the SDP Buffalo Ranch website:
Sale video from when he was 3

His first barrel run this year:

3rd in the 2D (with a pilot error) with Vega & Hill performance horses march of last year.

First go in the futurity March of last year

@Arem I think you misunderstand @Faster Horses post. FH is more wondering why a quality horse is going to a trainer that according to someone we know who worked with that trainer for years is not very good. (Bad training practices, blowing up horse after horse, laming horse’s, etc)

Neither of us know too much of the barrel scene so we only know what we’ve heard. The horse world is often petty so who knows! Maybe the trainer is fantastic, and what we heard for years is nothing more than sour grapes.

I can say I love this guy and I really hope the trainer does right by him.

Ah, I see. Hopefully all goes well and he finishes out the season successfull, sound, and sane. I know nothing about the woman myself, but unless they run at NFR or are local to me, that’s not surprising.

I'm falling even more in love with him the more pictures and videos you post of him.... For some reason I thought he was out of a daughter of HBC, not a granddaughter. Oh well, he is still spectacularly bred. And I absolutely love the fact that they ranch, rope, and run barrels on him. That's the kind of versatility that I want to produce. I had in my mind that he was 8 for some reason, obviously math is not my strongest suite....:rofl:

He and Remi would probably have a gorgeous chromed up baby! Definitely keeping him on my future list for her.

He looks a great deal better in working weight. That "halter" heavy photo isn't flattering and honestly makes me consider him for metabolic issues, esp that cresty neck.

Edited added - sorry, my autocorrect needs an attitude adjustment.

You’re looking at the difference between a young, immature stallion and mature stallion. He’s in work currently, barrel racing. I’d attribute the neck more to being a mature stallion.
