    Hello everyone.
    I have a question...
Recently my mother's horse has come up lame, she hasn't been getting much grain at all, She keeps acting like she is trying to founder and we're still trying to figure out why. Her diet right now is strictly oats because we don't want her on any sweet feed. But, last night we noticed that the shoulder muscle in that area below it was a little bit puffy or swollen looking. We've been giving her bute with extra bedding in her stall to try and make her comfertable. I still don't understand how a horse can founder in the winter but now that we think about it, we have had a lot of ice and snow cover here. If anyone has some suggestions about what to do to help her be more comfertable please tell me, my mom and I are going to give it another day before we call the vet to see if she gets any better. A friend of the family told us about a solution called buteless or B-L solution. We have ordered it and it will hopefully be coming in soon, if anyone has used it and knows how it works feel free to tell me what you think.
Thank you all for listening and have a great week
    -Ericka :)
