That they did! Went outside and rolled in the snow, then went inside and rolled in the arena... and back out to play! (That's why flash looks like a poo horse in the first photo )
She is every bit feminine ( other than enjoying the mud) while flash is so masculine.... what a handsome couple LOL
i have a couple of friends that have 1/2 Arab DHH and they are both really nice horses. This girl is 1/2 Arab Hanoverian.
It has been snowing here NON-STOP. Last summer I farted around getting Flash to drag tarps and pool noodles, I thought, why not try skijoring!? Didn't make it on today but lunged with a toboggan dragging behind. I have to get a breastplate, I think it will be better for him to pull me... I will get that when the roads are better! For now, here are some photos from today's lunge session!
You definitely want a breastplate before you climb aboard. Get someone to help for the 1st time or 2 - just to start. You'll want lines attached to twine on the sursingle that you hold (don't tie the sled to the horse for safety sake), or make it into a disc you can hold between your legs or under your bum while in the sled. Then have another set of lines to the bit/halter for steering. You'll want to have someone lead him while you slowly add more resistance to the lines and swin around from side to side & get the lines up under his tail. Do it in w/t just to be safe even if it's just a few minutes each way. Then you should be safe to climb in and have fun I'd suggest a 5point breastplate if your planning to do any amount of skijoring. But any style breastplate can work to start. Have fun! We're suppose to skijor (a big group of us) tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed the weather holds out for us!!!
I am in love with Mr. Flash. I am looking forward to more updates. I have this feeling that he is going to be way cool and super fancy pants under saddle.
