So I got to the barn today and theres fire ant mounts every where! I counted 7 in the area where the stalls are. 3 more along the path up to the barn! Im scared my horses are gonna roll on them or graze right into them! IS there anyway to get rid of them without using anything that will hurt the horses?

Boiling water works good. They also sell an organic flea mix for dogs that has cloves and peppermint oil that will run them off and kill some. It's called Vet's Best natural formula.[IMG]

    Amdro works on mine.

I use the granular formula. I get it at my local farm supply store.

Simple solution that works for me Grits just stir the nest a bit and spread the grits around the ants will take then doun into the nest natural ground moisture will swell them and decay of the grits will destroy the nest.
