Not speaking for her, but she wasn't stating anything but that they're not psychic. Any long transport of any kind is generally stressful.

Might be stressful for them to be loaded on a trailer with a bunch of strange equines and be hauled a long distance without a significant break. But, and this is important and is the point manes was making, they have no idea they are going to be killed at the end of the ride. They do not know as soon as the step of the trailer they are going to die, they do not "smell" death and fear and automatically freak out.

Equines get loaded on strange trailers with different traveling companions all of the time. If the are healthy and in decent condition, they do just fine.

Funny this thread was bumped up again. One of the kill pens around here as a two year old stud with a price tag of 3200 on it. People are all like "Save him!" Um, folks that horse (and all the others advertised) were bought to re-sell. The KB paid too much for those horses to slaughter them. They will go to another sale. The ones that are really going to slaughter are not advertised. I wish people would get this "Kill Pen" idea out of their heads. If he bough the horse to slaughter it, he will slaughter it. Period. He has a quota to fill. He's a horse trader. He hauls horses from sale to sale unless he can get some sap to pay is ridiculous prices.

Palo....exactly!! People don't get it that these supposed "kill pen" horses aren't going to slaughter, because they are decent horses that they KNOW someone will snap up, and folks are doing the marketing for them....when they post..."save him save him!" The slaughter horses are never advertised.....they just go from the auction to the transport.

I LOVE the “they ship at 7am!”
    7am comes around....
“It’s been pushed back an hour! Come on we have to save them! They have till 8!”
    8 comes around....
    “9am is IT!”
    Really.... sure.....

It's a scam. The most successful scam in the equine industry.

Oh and adding to my previous post about the stallion with a 3200$ price tag. His "ship date" is on the 20th along with a few others. What a coincidence! There is an weekly auction locally on that same day that he frequents so often his bidders number is 1...yes, I'm serious.
