A friend sent me this link, curious what people think. Friend thinks it could help Calypso build strength in her back end, which will help her balance.
I deeply distrust a company that promises they are not a gimmick. I mean, if you aren't a gimmick it should be obvious, right?

I really don't know. Maybe Manes or Blue might know if it is beneficial. First thing I thought was your mare Calypso is going to throw a fit. :( I doubt she'd tolerate it and don't know if you'd know how to desensitize her even if it did have a benefit.

Lots of trotting and backing her up and hills makes more sense to me.

See I see the OTHER side of this - she'd throw a fit but hey that's exactly WHY I'd put it on her! Get her over that!

But from first glance it does look gimmicky to me. o_O

Eh, she throws fits about a lot of things. Baths, blankets, halters, bits, etc. She gets used to them all eventually.

Friend was thinking specifically because one side is noticeably weaker than the other, I could use one band shorter than on the other side, but it seems AWFULLY gimmicky to me. . .

Probably is. Personally I would pass. I can't imagine it being worth more than ten bucks lol. You know, over hundreds of years they've come up with not very much that replaces wet saddle blankets and common sense.

We've made huge strides in rehab and veterinarian issues with horses, but most of the aides are variations on a theme.

It annoys me that they can't decide if they want to call it "saddlepad" one word or "saddle pad" two. Make up yo mind! :cautious:
