And WHO started it?
Like I should let some newbie think she's right?
One day he was recounting how he 'gave' Calypso some apples, but she ran away. I was deeply suspicious of this story, amd asked for more details.
He was driving the tractor down the road.
Saw my two grazing next to the road.
Opened tractor door.
Yelled "LASER SPOTS I HAVE APPLES FOR YOU!!!"
Threw a handful of wild apples at them.
Nope, no idea why she would have run away from that....
I need to take picture of the horse at my barn that has similar "laser spots," to Calypso.
Tip for OP: scientific research shows throwing apples at a horse's head from a moving vehicle is NOT a way to win their everlasting love and devotion.
I'm confused by the last 2 posts.
Flies don't go away if you keep swatting at them.
Update... throwing skittles and telling them to "taste the rainbow" proves to ineffective as well. lmao
My Mustang was abused by a man before I got him, and had a much deeper distrust/dislike of men compared to women. I would have my dad come with me to feed, and sometimes be the only person to feed him for a few days in a row. I also told my cousin that if Sam would come to the he could feed him treats, which I normally say no to.
I also would bring over any guy willing who would hang out with me while I worked with Sam. That seemed to help a lot. I took the same tactic I would with a dog. I am the leader, I say this person is OK and not a source of fear, so it is a non-issue.
Eventually he got to the point where new guys still took a few minutes to warm up to, but he would.
I almost did today. Was going to when I put my friend's horse back from hand walking, but he was so bad today I forgot. No ground manners and on top of that he is so sore all over. Not sure from his surgery, check ligament, poor conformation, hunter's bump, club foot, poor shoeing, or way over due for his teeth to be done, at least three years and yes, maybe ulcers. He is only of only two horses I haven't liked over the years. The other was an appy stallion.
The horse in question, doesn't help he is 16.2 either. I'm only 5'5". The tape is KT Tape. He has swollen knees and it seems to help with the pain in those when I do the tape. Helps my knee that had surgery too.
