I can't decide if Pistol's saddle fits Maverick or not. Just the other day it was a definite nope and now I'm not sure again.
I can just barely squeeze 3 fingers between the swell and his withers, but 2 fit easier and I can make them go further.
I can fit two fingers between the back part of the skirt and his back.
    You guys be the judges.

Ima try out the poll thing XD

Slide it back a little. The bars of the tree should lay one to two inches behind the scapula. Take a picture with the camera just in front of and along side his neck, so we can see if the bar angle matches the shoulder angle, and from behind with the camera lens just above his butt.

While the photos aren't the best (as Manes mentioned) the saddle is clearly too long for this horses back, and moving it back is going to make that worse. His hip is going to push the saddle further forward than where it sits right now once he's in motion.

Can't get pics of him standing with all four feet on the ground in the back picture. Flies are ready going nuts and he was playing a new rendition of The Floor is Lava as he was trying to kick and stomp them away. The longer he stood there the worse he was getting and I took the back picture last. So there you go. That's why his butt seems slanted lol. Gotta buy some fly spray soon.[IMG] [IMG]

It's leaning forward... Too wide of a bar, right?

I like that angle. Id be wary or worried that it touches down on his withers when cinched though? If slightly smaller bars isnt the answer or an option, I would at least use a really good quality/ density pad under it, maybe wither cutback hairfelt, to eliminate chance of wither contact. A lil wide can be padded up possibly; too narrow is just going to pinch & make them miserable, maybe buck.

IMPO, a saddle shouldn't sit up in back like that.

Yep a little too wide but the bar angle looks good.

Messaged someone in my area about a saddle they have for sale. Don't know much about it yet but I have pics that they posted on FB. I like the color and although I was hoping for dark brown I think it'd look good on mav. Plus it's got a 16" seat (one of my saddles is 16" so sounds good to me) and I think it's a barrel saddle (???) so it is probably lightweight. I like it if it'll just fit. $150
