Reread the whole thread, sorry for the doubles.

Kitty joined our ride the other day.

Track has been slightly changed. Will be making more sheep paddocks, 3 will be inside the track. Track will be made a little more narrow when the paddocks are put up. It will also be expanded around all 4 acres with 6 rotational paddocks for my sheep.

Oh, haven't updated his current weight, it's 740! And has been stable for months.
I weigh out hay for 4x a day feedings. Time consuming, but a necessity.
Found a new hay guy and he made hay off our new land. Should have enough through to end of spring, should being the key word.

Went on another trail ride on the new land, much better about not dive bombing for grass, decent amount of trotting, too.

A ride last week ended halfway through, he was "hot", led back and rode in a large pen until he was back on me and calm.
Next ride, tons of grass diving. =/
Yet another ride today out back, sheep out, 2 ponies out, LGDs & cats out there freely as well. He did great. He took notice when he first spotted the flock & later the dog, but continued on peachy keen.

    Snail paced sheep herding! Lol
He is more willing when chasing sheep than if I image some to work on, if you know what I mean.

Attempted ponying a pony offa pony today! Whoo, fun to say!

If my yearling would follow, instead of being a turkey & smushing my gelding, it would of gone okay. But he nibbled on my mount's face, crowded him and kinda body slammed him. =/ So, worked on leading, which he quickly remembered how, but I'll have to practice leading them together and with me on the opposite side of my older gelding to tell off the little guy to keep space. IDK if that makes sense to you guys, but they are short, so easy for me to have an arm over my older guy with a riding crop and tap the little guy to tell him to give the other guy space as we walk along. Later on, I'll start trying that from atop my horse. Does that sound like a decent plan? Rather break it down like that than attempt it from saddle straight away.

Anyone have tips on how to teach a horse to pony properly??

Sorry, helmetcam reset, so date is wrong, didn't realize that until after I uploaded it to my PC.

Your lead is too long if he can do that.

For the kids, I keep my rope shorter so their head stays at my knee until they really get it.

Thanks. Keep his head at my thigh type of length, then?
