Is this a cataract in my palomino quarter horse???? The lady I bought him from said that he had a blue eye, but I did a little research and it definitely looks like a cataract to me! I DO NOT think the lady was being dishonest I think she really thought it was a blue eye. She comes by sometimes to check on him also. He 25 years old so he has been around for awhile!

Gorgeous horse, but yeah..looks like one to me too, but you'd need a really close photo. When your vet's out, have them take a gander at it, they'll shine a light and be able to tell you immediately.

The picture isn't good enough to say. Have the Vet look at it.

If you bring your hand toward his eye like you're going to hit him, does he flinch or blink?

My mare had a cataract (she had removal surgery) and outside her eye looked normal, but in the stall i could see the blue. Sure enough, sure had a cataract.

Doesn't look like blue eyes usually do.
Have the vet out to check.

Half of the time he keeps that eye closed and it usually it has water coming out of it. I did some research and it definitely looks like a cataract and not a blue eye....
Here are the pictures I found

    Cataract
    WildHorse-04-1024x682.jpg blue eye.

He has brown eyes with a blue ball in the middle... So I am pretty sure it is a cataract.

Looks like a mature cataract. Did you see if she'd blink if you tried to "hit" her?
