So a few days ago, I feel a sinus infection coming on. So I start taking the over the counter stuff. Its painfull in my jaw and eye socket..
Last night it was so bad, I didnt sleep until 6am. I took every pill I could find, and sat on my bedroom floor with my face over the humidifier for 20 minutes.
Today its still major bad, so my sister gave me a bottle of Eucalyptus oil and a bottle of Tea Tree oil..

It feels like my jaw is broken :( I put some of the tea tree on a Q tip and put it just under my nose..
This c.rap sucks.. Glad I didnt have any big plans for New years.. lol Cuz Im sitting here being a boo boo baby..

Anyone have any other cures, or ideas? Im miserable..

man that sucks i had one of those and yes i thought i was going to die it hurt my teeth i did everything you are doing and all i can say is you have to wait it out. my doctor even perscribed hydrocodone and that barely scratched the surface for pain. I slept in a recliner for three days as that was the only position that I could get comfortable

Over-medicating is more of a risk - be careful. I know how shi te you feel right now, but seriously, please be careful with the meds. Hope you feel better real soon.

If your sinus infection is that bad that you feel it in your jawbone and eyes you need to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics. I get them and if I wait too long to start antibiotics I'll get that same pain. It's horrible! My doctor usually puts me on Cephalexin 500mg 3x a day for 10 days, and usually by the 3rd day, I'm feeling 100% better! But, you have to take all the meds until they're gone or else it will just come right back.

Potentially yes you can die from a true sinus infection(not a cold). I've had fevers 1 degree off from an emergency room visit because of sinus infections. It's a bacterial infection and you would recover much quicker if you got antibiotics from a doctor. Over the counter stuff won't do much and can make it worse by drying out your nose so it doesn't drain properly. You need all the junk to come out not sit around in your sinus cavities causing problems. Breathe in steam from hot water, take 1 otc cold/sinus med at the recommended dose, check for a fever frequently, and go to the doctor if it doesn't clear up in a couple days, you have a high fever, or if you suffer multiple sinus infections within a couple months. Extra vit c is also supposedly helpful for most illnesses but don't take high amounts for extended periods of time or it can lead to health problems.

http://neilmed.com/ The sinus rinse is awesome. I get usually about 4 -6 sinus infections a year. I have been using it for about 3 years and have only had 1 since. And that was when I was out and hadn't used it in a few months. It might not help once you are already infected, but will help you not get any more. Very disgusting to use until you get used to it. But you do need to go see a dr and get some antibiotics for the one you have right now.

If I still have it on tues morn, Im calling the doc. He is out for the holiday..

Yeah I used to get them alot, been lucky for awhile. I think my allergies contribute to some of it.. So I make sure I always take my allergie meds..

Thanks for the advice, Im going to go stand with a towel over my head by the steamer with some oils and see if it helps..

John, Yeah last night I was considering sleeping on my porch..lol The cold air helped it break up, so I smoked more last night then I do all day. Id come back in and try to hurry and go to sleep before it starting hurting again.. But not much luck with that..

Thanks TPC... I will try and get some of that stuff. I use rinocort, but thats an allergy spray..
