Is my 25 year old horse to old to barrel race in playdays? He's a pretty fast horse and doesn't mind to get up and go! He used to barrel race before I got him for years, and since I've had him I have only trotted around the barrels with him he seemed like he already kinda knew what to do. I am going to take barrel racing lessons soon an I would like to use him to practice and if he can, compete in playdays.

I vote yes only as a non competitive horse. 25 is quite aged, and without seeing his condition, it’s really hard to say.
Take lessons and listen to your trainers opinions on the matter.
If he still enjoys it, I don’t see the issue.

Is he sound? Is he fit? Can he hold up to the work and stay sound? If the answer to all of those questions is yes, go have fun! You may not be competitive, but you can still have tons of fun!

    Thank you so much!
Yes he's completely sound! He has lost a little weight because of the winter though, but that's not a big deal right?

Again, without seeing his condition, too hard to tell.
