#169 - Brown Hinny Gelding . . . $160. This little guy is 8 years old and between 34 and 36 inches with beautiful dapples. He was very uneasy in the pen but did lead through the ring quietly at a walk.

#170 - Paint Donkey Stud. . .$200. This guy is 10 years old, approx 11.3 hands and super quiet. In the pen he stood off to the side on his own, quietly watching everyone. He was led through the ring at a walk and didn’t seem the least be fazed by the noisy crowd.

#171 - Sorrel Pony Mare . . . . $200. This little girl is 12 years old, approx 11.2 hands and looks like a teeny tiny haflinger with a star, stripe and snip. She was quiet and sweet in the pen and was extremely tolerant of us as we looked at her teeth, lifted her legs and rubbed her up and down. She is said to ride and drive and was led through the ring w/t with a very cute, prancey little trot.

#173 - Brown Hinny Gelding. . . $200. At 7 years old and somewhere between 10 and 11 hands this guy was quiet and friendly in the pen and looooved taking treats from us.

#175 - Palomino pony mare . . .$250. This little lady is around 10 hands and was announced as smoothmouth. She was unsure but friendly in the pen and it was reported that she had been ridden outside, but in the ring when the rider went to jump on the mare was startled and shied away.

#174 – Chocolate mini Jenny. . .$225. This little girl is only a yearling and approx 34 inches tall but stood in the pen very quietly beside #176, who she seemed quite bonded to. Very cute and friendly little girl. She led through the ring quietly at a walk with her buddy, #176.

#176 – Grey mini Jenny . . .$225 At 8 years old and approx 38 inches high this little one stood quietly in the pen and was very sweet and friendly towards all and loved our treats. She was led through the ring at a walk and seemed quite bonded with #174, who went through the ring with her.

#181 – Bay Standardbred Gelding. . .$450. This guy is a total love. He was announced as smoothmouth and is around 15.2 or 15.3 and has no markings except for having been pin fired on his right front. In the pen he was very quiet and extremely tolerant of us as we went through several different attempts at capturing his tattoo on camera. And every time I let go of his lip he gently placed his forehead against my chest for some cuddles. He was led through at a walk and seemed slightly “hitchy” behind but was quiet despite the noisy crowd.

#182 – Liver Chestnut Paint Mare . . .$425. This girl is a registered paint, is 13 years old, approx 14 hands and has one blue eye. In the pen she was too interested in eating her hay for us to make a fair evaluation on her temperament. It was announced that she had been working in a hack barn, was purchased there, left in a field for a short time and then bucked when her new owner tried to ride her, so she was brought to the auction. When they tacked her up to ride her they said that she bucked with them as well so she was led through the ring under tack at a walk/trot.

#183 – Sorrel Saddlebred Mare. . . .$350. This stunning girl is 3 years old and approx 16.1 hands. She has a star, a snip and socks on both hind legs. In the pen she was quiet, curious, extremely friendly and a bit of a treat hound but so cute about it that we couldn’t resist sneaking her a few extras while the other horses weren’t looking. Before arriving at the auction she had been harness broke, but she took so well to being saddled that she had her first ride just before entering the ring. She rode through walk/trot and although she appeared slightly confused at times she was extremely willing, honest and didn’t do a single thing wrong.

#185 – Chestnut Paint Mare . . . $375. This 8 year old is around 15 hands and was tentative but friendly in the pen. She is green and seemed a little confused in the pen, but was quiet and tried hard.

#186 – Black Paso Fino Mare . . . $400. This girl is approx 9-10 years old and around 14 hands tall. She was a little anxious and unsure in the pen but quiet about it. In the ring she was announced as “riding good and sound” and showed off her nice gaits. You could see that she was a little anxious, but she behaved well nonetheless and didn’t do anything wrong.

#187 - Sorrel Mare. . . $250. At 4 years old, has a pretty little star, stripe, snip and is approx 12.2-12.3 hands this little one was extremely cute, quiet and social in the pen. She seemed to love attention, displayed great ground manners and was very tolerant of us as we studied her eyes for several minutes. It appears that she has limited or no vision in hr right eye…but that fact does not seem to bother her in the least. She was led through at a walk/trot and was extremely quiet about it despite her vision issues and a very loud and busy crowd.

#189 –Chestnut Paint Mare . . . $450. This 6 year old mare has a star, stripe, snip, is approx 15 hands and was both friendly and quiet in the pen. It was reported that when she was ridden outside she did so at a walk, trot and canter and also went over some jumps. In the pen she was ridden at a walk, trot and canter and had very pretty gaits. She appeared to be an honest, quiet kind of girl.

#193 – Grey Arabian Mare . . . $300. This 12 year old girl is approx 14 hands and very pretty. She was quiet in the pen and although she was very friendly she was quiet about it. It was announced that she has a bit of a cold but that she has been receiving treatment for it. Despite that she rode through walk/trot quietly and honestly and looked very nice at the trot.

#194 - Appaloosa Mare . . . $400. At 10 years old this loud blanket-back appaloosa is between 15.1 and 15.3 hands and is very demanding when she wants attention and then very quiet once she has it. She was quiet in the pen and was led through the ring with a rider on board. It was announced that this horse had been sitting all winter and that this was her first day back under saddle so she may just need a refresher course.
****I noted this horse down as a gelding. Will be checked in the morning.

#198 - Sorrel Haffie Gelding. . . $350. This boy is a registered haflinger. He is 5 years old and is approx 14.3 hands with the more tall, long, modern-type build. He has a star that is hidden by his beautiful forelock and a small snip. In the pen he was very nervous and unsure about being handled…but once we got our hands on him he calmed a bit and seemed to enjoy the attention. He was announced as green broke and was led through at a walk. He seemed anxious, but remained quiet and didn’t do anything wrong.

#200 – Sorrel TB Stallion . . . $200. This registered TB is 5 years old and approx 16 hands with a star, snip and a sock on both his left front and right hind legs. He allowed me to attach a lead to his halter and handle him while his picture was being taken and didn’t misbehave at all while I was in the stall with him. He is unraced and was said to have been lunged over some jumps. He was led through the ring at a walk/trot and is a very cute mover. Has the look of a nice hunter in-the-making and will probably make a very nice gelding.

#201 – Bay TB Gelding. . . $300. This 7 year old, Jersey bred TB is registered, has a stripe and a snip and is around 16 hands. In the ring he was quiet and tolerant. He is thin and was said to have been abandoned at someone’s home who couldn’t care for him, but he did get his teeth floated. He rode through walk/trot and had a very nice way of going and a very pretty, floaty trot. **This guy had some fungal lesions, possible ringworm?**

In an attempt to assist some of these horses homes before they ship, I list them here. The horses are the property of Camelot Auction House -- any interested parties will be dealing with Frank Carper, the proprietor. Helping Hearts is in NO WAY "vetting" prospective buyers NOR placing these horses with Adoption Contracts. My hope is to help these animals avoid an excruciating death and find themselves back in positions where they can be loved and be productive for someone, rather than being the 'cast-offs' they've become, thru no fault of their own.
IF YOU CALL OR GO TO LOOK AT THE HORSES, be polite to the proprietor. We want to keep the lines of communication open. He did NOT put these horses in their predicaments, their irresponsible owners did, he's cleaning up their messes. He's a business man, if you purchase a horse from the Feed Lot, you will be paying meat price - he will get that price whether he gets it from you or via the slaughter pipeline. Also, do not call just to "kick tires" or ask random questions - - call only if you are serious about pulling one of these horses to safety.
If you purchase a Feed Lot Horse -- Please plan your Isolation/quarantine accordingly - check this website for info:
